I’ve struggled with my weight in the past and realized for health reasons I needed to get the weight off.  I could not figure out why I was struggling so much with this issue.  I started doing a little research and I picked up a book called the Glucose Revolution.

The book pointed me in the direction of the culprit, my mitochondria.

The mitochondria make energy for the body by burning sugar and fat.

I did not realize that my mitochondria were dormant (sleeping) until I picked up the book Glucose Revolution.  Suddenly, it all made sense.  I was very sedentary, I gained a lot of weight in my midsection and I was always out of energy.

After reading that the mitochondria were responsible for burning sugar and fat to make energy I realized I had to take action.  I started walking up to an hour a day and lifted weights three times a week and gradually that belly shrunk.

In other words, I woke up my mitochondria.
